Etagas is a new Generic gas injection system designed by Tartarini Auto, leaders in the Autogas industry.

Generic, means that this injection system can be used on nearly all-new cars, with the configuration being decided by the installer without any restriction being applied, unlike other Autogas systems.

Better fuelling at all engine speeds means increased MPG on lpg over other mixer systems, and lower emissions. The Etagas system has been tested and passed the new Euro 4 emission standards, shortly to be employed in all European countries.

A simple dashboard mounted change over switch displays the current lpg tank level and the current fuel in use (petrol/lpg).

Key benefits of Etagas usage

Components and brief functional description:

Etagas Distributor

Gas is supplied in vapour form from the regulator to the distributor mounted on the engine via a cut-off solenoid.

Fuel is then adjusted by the Etagas ECU using the fine trim stepper motor of the Etagas distributor before allowing the gas under pressure to be injected into the engine inlet manifold in just the right amounts and at just the right time.

Due to such small amounts of gas being injected the risk of an engine backfire is eliminated resulting in smoother running and better engine performance.

Etagas Injector nozzles

The injector nozzles are calibrated carefully to the engine size and drilled into the inlet manifold at the closest position to the engine cylinder head possible.

Special hoses are used with specific clips to ensure a good seal to the nozzles and easy routing of the hoses.

This procedure is always best done with the manifold removed and on the workbench.

Etagas ECU

The Etagas ECU is the heart of the system and takes signals from various engine sensors to enable the correct metering of the fuel to the engine.

A durable waterproof alloy case allows the ECU to be mounted in the engine bay and with all the wiring sheathed in black, so the installation looks professional and tidy.

Rapid processing of signals from the various engine sensors allows the Etagas system to adapt to all driving styles and road conditions encountered.

The Etagas ECU acts in the same way as the modern day petrol ECU in the case of an accident the Etagas system will shut down all supply of fuel from the LPG tank; the same process as employed on modern day petrol engines.

Etagas Pressure Regulator

A small compact pressure regulator is easily fitted into the tight engine bay of most modern cars.

This unit controls the pressure of gas being supplied from the gas tank under its own pressure and regulates the liquid gas down to vapour against vacuum created in the inlet manifold.
